City of Baldwin Park’s Eperanza Villa Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony & Open House
You are cordially invited attend the City of Baldwin Park’s Eperanza Villa Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony & Open House scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11AM. The ceremony will be held at the tiny home village site, located at 14173 Garvey Avenue. Members of the San Gabriel Valley Regional Housing Trust, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, City Council and local and state elected officials will be joining us in unveiling the first of its kind project in the San Gabriel Valley that will serve as a model for the region.
The event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by site tours open to the public immediately following the ceremony that will be available until 2PM. Please note that a street closure on Garvey Avenue will be scheduled for the ceremony from 5AM-5PM.
The site consists of prefabricated cabins with locking doors and air conditioning, a dog park, and communal areas among other amenities. The project has been redesigned to meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness, community aesthetics, and other safety features addressed at our community input meeting process in June of 2021.
Volunteers of America Los Angeles, an experienced homeless shelter operator in the region-will operate the site and provide onsite supportive services including case management, housing navigation, and job training. The tiny homes, restroom, and laundry facilities are made by Pallet Shelter, an organization that employs individuals with lived experience.
